WhatsApp’s ChatGPT receives a significant update: Voice and picture contributions are now accepted.

WhatsApp's ChatGPT

Users of WhatsApp may now utilize voice and picture input to communicate with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Future innovations, such as direct account sign-ins via WhatsApp, are anticipated as a result of the changes, which improve user experience by enabling the submission of voice and photo messages.

According to reports, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been modified to handle voice and picture message inputs, which is an exciting development for WhatsApp users. This comes after the AI chatbot’s official phone number, which at first exclusively handled text-based inquiries, was unveiled in December 2024. Now that the most recent improvements are available everywhere, users may engage with ChatGPT on WhatsApp in new ways.

Since Android Authority first observed the new features, the chatbot’s user base has become quite interested in them. According to reports, users may now post images or memes to ChatGPT and get informative feedback regarding the visual material thanks to its image processing skills. It is crucial to remember that although the system is capable of analyzing and commenting on photos, it can only respond with text at this time and cannot produce visuals in response.

In a similar vein, voice input is a pleasant convenience, especially for people who would rather talk than type long prompts. According to the magazine, users may now submit voice messages, and the chatbot will process the audio and reply with text. It is anticipated that this update would improve the user experience, particularly when typing is impracticable.

According to reports, OpenAI has also alluded to potential future advancements, such as enabling users to access their ChatGPT accounts directly through WhatsApp. If the same account is utilized, this functionality may allow discussions to be synchronized between the ChatGPT online client or mobile app and the WhatsApp platform.

Although these improvements represent a major advancement in usability and accessibility, users are cautioned to use caution when uploading photographs that include sensitive or private data because OpenAI’s computers will be processing them.

A new ‘deep research’ mode has also been added to ChatGPT by OpenAI, enabling users to do multi-step online research for more complicated jobs. Notably, after Operator AI for browser-related activities was introduced last month, Deep Research is OpenAI’s second AI agent.
